Democracy Cafe

Yesterday I attended the Democracy Cafe organised by My Life My Say in Manchester!

It was an opportunity to talk to fellow young people about politics, but also a big campaign called #GiveAnX

Give an X is all about increasing voter registration and awareness - we have a general election later this year, as well as local elections on 2nd May.

Young people and their voice has never been so important - from the cost of living crisis, to COVID, to climate change, we need to show our support or opposition via the polls.

If you’re not registered, it isn’t too late! You can register if you are 16 and above.

Deadlines for Voting in May Elections:

• Register to Vote: Tuesday 16th April

• Apply for Postal Vote: Wednesday 17th April

• Apply for Proxy Vote: Wednesday 24th April

Democracy has never mattered more, whether you believe in it or not, why not turn up and exercise your democratic right? You have everything to lose, as well as gain!

Thanks to the team for organising the cafe, it was great to bump into old friends who are making powerful changes through this campaign ☺️
